"The AC compressor did not fail, the clutch the connects the pulley to the compressor failed. This is a replaceable unit but. VW only changes out the entire unit (compressor w clutch). So a $40 piece of equipment cost us more than $1200 to replace"

"Local VW dealership repaired the Jetta. Vehicle's issue was covered by extended factory warranty which covered emissions issues up to 150,000 miles. I believe it was free extended coverage provided to VW owners as part of VW's settlement on their emissions data scandal."

"After long cold spell, car wouldn't start. Had it towed to dealership. Initially they thought it needed a new battery. Still wouldn't start. Car was at dealership for over 7 weeks. They finally decided that it was a gear shift indicator that didn't tell the car it was in park so it wouldn't let the car start. Had to call VW customer service directly in order to get any answers about the car or to get any work completed. Very frustrating time, did not reflect well on VW dealership. At one point they called and told us the car smelled so bad the mechanic could not work on it??!! My husband drove 45 minutes to clean out the car but nothing was found in the car, and there was no odor in the car. Another time I received a video showing me that my car radio had been fixed - unless my dark gray Jetta had turned white overnight this certainly wasn't my car. I was told when I called to check on my car that they couldn't get to my car because they had a backlog of cars before mine and since I'd had it towed in instead of making an appointment they didn't know when they would get to it. I asked three times to speak to a service manager and no one ever returned my calls."

"While my phone is paired with Bluetooth and playing music from my playlist through the radio, sometimes Ill hear a small click through the speakers which is immediately followed by a loud piercing screech. When I switch to either the FM or AM band, there is no screech. When I switch back to Bluetooth audio, the screech is still there and the only remedy I have found is cycling the car off and on up to two times."
