"Not sure if you would consider this serious, but the dashboard sensors started lighting up even though we did not think there were problems. When we had it checked, the dealer charged us $1,000 to reset the sensors (not sure if they were replaced), anyway they did not find any underlying issues with the car - only with the sensors."

I was refilling coolant before every drive just to keep the light from coming on and overheating the engine. Took it to a shop and had it checked, where they isolated it to a water pump housing leak. Ended up having to replace the pump and housing and then found out theres a class action suit for this exact situation but my car was past the 80000 mile settlement limit when I had it replaced by the mechanic so I was not offered any consolation for the repairs."

"October 22 2023 it became difficult to shift gear into Drive. Oct 25, 2023 mechanics reported problem was not transmission but the gear shifter and cable needed replacing. Also stated the part was not available due to national backlog list since covid. Expected delivery maybe 12 weeks no guarantee. We called volkswagon service centers in Washington and all across the country. Dealership Websites showed the gearshifter as availabke with prices ranging from $500-$1300. Very few answered the phone, none returned voice messages. To date no part. Not able to drive! I have enjoyed the Jettas since 2001. This is my 3rd Jetta. And now after the EPA fiasco and no parts, poor customer service, it is my last time dealing with Volkswagon. I am so disappointed in their lack of integrity and failure to stand behind their cars and service their loyal customers. Wow 23 years down the drain. I'm just sad about the whole situation. Now I have to buy another car. Perhaps customer service and quality cars are stilled valued by another brand. I sure hope so. That will make me happy!"
