    Road Test

The Volkswagen Routan is a rebadged version of the Chrysler Town & Country minivan. Only modestly better suspension tuning and a somewhat plusher interior distinguish it. High points include a pleasant ride, a reasonably powerful engine and a quiet cabin. Handling is on the clumsy side though, fuel economy is mediocre and even the up-level engine lacks refinement. The 2011 model got a number of updates, including a new engine and standard side airbags for front passengers.
