Based on the Volvo S60 sedan, the V60 station wagon was redesigned for 2019. Lower and longer than its predecessor, it shared design and mechanical elements with the larger V90 wagon, S90 sedan, and both the XC90 and XC60 crossovers. The Sweden-built V60 came standard with advanced driver assist features including automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. A turbocharged, 250-hp four-cylinder engine and front-wheel drive come with T5 trim. The T6 offered all-wheel drive, plus a 316-hp four-cylinder engine that was both turbocharged and supercharged. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Unfortunately, the V60 gets Volvo's unintuitive touch-screen infotainment setup, which our testers found frustrating to use. Volvo's Pilot Assist system offers a suite of advanced driver assistance features. A Cross Country version was added to the line. A T8 Polestar Engineered trim, complete with a 415-hp plug-in hybrid powertrain and an enhanced suspension system, was new for the 2020 model year. For 2021, BSW and RCTW are standard. For 2025, the Ultimate trim has been renamed Ultra.
