What Owners Say
""Piston rings failed after production moved to China, this happened just over the 100,000 mile coverage period. I tracked consumption and after months of discussion Volvo did cover the repairs less some additional replacement parts we chose to have done. Dealer was great working on our behave. Found out this has become a common issue in Volvo's with the 5-cylinder engines. Our 2005 with almost 200,000 miles doesn't use a drop of oil.""

Anonymous, MA (2016 Volvo XC60 T6 2.0-L 4 Cyl turbo)""Call started burning oil at around 90k miles. After 8 year 100,000 mile warranty had expired. Well documented piston ring faulty design issue. Volvo was aware of issue when they sold me my car. My understanding is Volvo corrected issue in mid 2016 model production cycle. My car was early production 2016 model. Cost to repair is $8,500, more than Kelly Blue book value. Volvo will not help with cost of repairs. Volvo ethics leaves much to be desired!""

"Engine started using oil at about 75K miles. Almost ran dry at 78k. Went dealer, performed oil consumption test over 3K mikes. Resulted in Volvo doing major overhaul at no cost to me. Car has been perfect since repair."
