Climate System
AC compressor, blower (fan) motor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate system, electrical failure, refrigerant leakage.
We expect the 2025 XC60 will have about average reliability when compared to the average new car. This prediction is based on data from 2022, 2023, and 2024 models.
The Reliability score is based on our latest subscriber survey of 2018 Volvo XC60 owners. The owner comments describe problems respondents experienced with this vehicle.

"When cooling season began in 2023, the Volvo's cooling wasn't working. Took the car to a local garage where I've gone for regular service. I was told the refrigerant was low so they topped it up. The cooling worked for a while that season then quit. The dealer who topped it up suggested I take it to a garage capable of servicing the system. Called our Volvo dealership but they never returned the call. We found a garage elsewhere that was fully equipped to service the system. They discovered the wrong refrigerant had be used by the previous garage. It was contaminated thus they evacuated, cleaned and recharged with the proper refrigerant. The system worked OK after that but now dring this past winter the cooling system is making intermittent sounds when you start the vehicle. I say it's the cooling because all I have to do do is turn it off and the sound quits. So as I said we'll see what the new season brings."
