With Black Friday just two weeks away, you can start shopping now and still find great savings. In the past few years, we’ve seen loads of items go on sale earlier and earlier and remain at or near the same prices we see during Black Friday weekend. Some items, such as TVs and popular products like headphones and kitchen appliances, drop significantly in price. But when it comes to home goods, the early Black Friday deals are often very close to, if not exactly, what you’ll find for the big sale weekend.

We keep tabs on these products all year, and the items in this list have all been at stellar prices since the big sales held at Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart in early October. We’ve noted where prices have increased a bit, so you can make an informed decision to either purchase now or wait and save a bit more later. Plus, buying now also means no worry about shipping delays and getting more of your shopping done earlier with less stress as the holidays draw nearer.

    Air Purifiers

The kid sister to the 211i Max, Blueair’s 411i Max has a similar design, but for a smaller space—CR recommends a medium room or less. The portable air purifier delivers impressive results on its higher speed, and as with many air purifiers, it’s less effective on the lower speed. A true selling point is its relatively low annual operating cost and the fact that CR members are highly satisfied with their Blueairs. If you’re looking for an even cheaper option for a smaller room, the Pure 511 is another three-speed model that performs reasonably well in our tests. It was as low as $120 during the big October sales, so you may be able to save a little more if you wait until Black Friday.

    Dehumidifiers

The small-capacity hOmeLabs HME020030N can tackle roughly 22 pints of water a day with a tank size that holds 7 pints of water at once. Among its many features are a digital display that’s coupled with a timer, frost control, built-in cord storage, and an alert for when its filter needs cleaning. It earns high scores in our tests when it comes to water removal and humidistat accuracy, showing no discernible flaws in performance. Based on data from our member survey, it gets impressive scores for predicted reliability as well. This dehumidifier was $20 less during Amazon’s big deal event in October, but this is still a solid price.

    Humidifiers

The low-priced, ultrasonic Levoit Classic 300S can humidify a room of up to 505 square feet, which earns it a solid rating in our output test. It aces other evaluations too. It has a variety of features including automatic shut-off, a digital humidity display more accurate than those of most competitors, and the option to diffuse aromas.

    Mattress Toppers

A solid value pick, this 3-inch topper from BedStory offers a luxe feel, thanks, in part, to its removable quilted cover. Lab tests found that its two-layer gel-infused-foam design registers warmer, and an evaluator noted that it offers a resilient surface with a medium- to medium-soft feel. Highlights include an inner encasement as well as a machine-washable cover that zips down halfway.

The dual-layer Casper Comfy adds a layer of softer foam to a firmer foam base. At only 20 pounds, the mattress topper is fairly easy to move around and the machine-washable zip-off cover (made of polyester, cotton, rayon, and spandex) makes it a cinch to clean. But the topper can’t be flipped. This mattress topper was also on sale during the fall version of Amazon Prime Day, and now the price has dropped by another $25.

More than one-third off it’s normal price, Tempur-Pedic’s 3-inch memory foam cushion allows you to add Tempur’s unique, slow-sink design to any mattress. There’s a much firmer initial feel that slowly softens to a medium and contours to the body over the course of 30 seconds. Our lab test found that the topper doesn’t trap a lot of heat. The Tempur Supreme comes with a removable polyester cover and can be flipped over after removing and replacing its cover.

    Pillows

Made of two layers of gel memory foam, Tempur-Pedic’s Tempur-Cloud Breeze Dual Cooling Pillow is top-notch for side-sleeper support but only middling for back-sleeper support. In our resilience test, this pillow successfully maintained its shape. Despite having “breeze” in its name, the pillow doesn’t allow for much airflow, so you may get sweaty sleeping on it. Only the cover is machine-washable.

This StyleWell pillow, available exclusively at Home Depot, is a great option if you’re a fan of memory foam, especially at this low price. It gets top marks for side sleepers and aces our tests for breathability. The pillow also performs very well when it comes to how its firmness, height, and support change with use. If you’re a back sleeper, you may want to consider other options, however, because it gets middling scores for that type of sleeper.

This pair of microfiber pillows offers very good support for side sleepers but earns just middling scores in our back support tests. And resilience is just so-so. But if you sleep a bit warm, you can find comfort in knowing that these pillows have maximum breathability.

    Robotic Vacuums

Not every robot vacuum is good at cleaning carpets, but the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is one of the few to earn an excellent rating in our carpet test. It similarly impresses us with its ability to vacuum up pet hair. The model doubles as a robot mop that the manufacturer claims is self-washing and self-drying. We typically see this model selling for $1,400, so you’re saving $300 with this deal.

The WiFi-enabled Eufy RoboVac X8 performs well on bare floors and picks up pet hairs effectively. It’s also stellar at cleaning edges and corners, but our testers find it has a tendency to scatter debris. This model has a lithium-ion battery and a one-sided brush, and it comes with an extra filter, a filter cleaning tool, and a docking station.

    Sheets

If you’re looking for a solid budget pick, this lightweight set of sheets from Amazon Basics could be just the right fit. These microfiber sheets earn good scores in our ratings for strength and wrinkling, but they really stand out when it comes to maintaining their fit, acing CR’s shrinkage tests.

There’s a reason Brooklinen is an internet sensation. Our tests find that its Luxe Core sheets have an excellent fit on mattress depths of 14 inches or less. And when it comes to shrinkage, consumers can rest assured that they won’t experience much of it. What’s even better, Luxe Core sheets are the softest cotton sheets in our ratings, according to our sensory test, and at a cost of under $200, they fall in the middle of the pack for pricing. When you’re making the bed, these sheets take out the guesswork. There are labels along each side that read “short side” and “long side” so that you’re never confused.

    Showerheads

The Hopopro 6-function showerhead is an easy-to-use handheld shower with variable settings for different users. In our tests it provided a nice-feeling shower while using minimal water. We tested it with a 1.8-gallon-per-minute (GPM)  flow restrictor in place, but it comes with a 2.5GPM restrictor if you want more pressure.

This showerhead from Hopopro is a best-seller on Amazon for a reason: It delivers steady pressure while using just 1.3 gallons of water per minute. It comes in five finishes and has five spray settings that are easy to adjust.

    Solar Outdoor Lights

Lerekam Solar Spot Lights are among the priciest outdoor spotlights we’ve reviewed, but our tests found they offered tremendous performance. They can be angled, installed with ground spikes (included), or screwed to other surfaces. They have an on/off button and can be recharged with a USB cable (also included). Each of the lights in the six-pack has 40 LEDs, resulting in intense white light that shines wide over an area, not unlike a flashlight.

It’s hard to contend with the value offered by the Gigalumi Grid Solar Pathway Lights. Their cost is lower (on a per-light basis) than just about any other path light we’ve seen. There’s a single setting, an on/off button, and a removable battery, but the lights can’t be charged or angled.

This is the lowest price we’ve seen since testing these lights. The JSOT Outdoor Solar Deck Lights, are stellar deck lights that emit a medium-bright light. Each fixture contains 3 LEDs. While the lights can’t be charged with a cable, they have an on/off switch, so you can turn them off to build up power if you’re concerned about their charge.

    Washing Machines

One of the most budget-friendly top-load agitators in our tests, especially now that it’s back down to its best price, the LG WT7005CW delivers across the board. This eco-friendly Green Choice washer isn’t the gentlest on clothes, but it conserves energy and water. It’s among the quietest models in our tests and causes little to no vibration, meaning it won’t disturb you with rumbling. The cycle time is 70 minutes using the normal-wash, heavy-soil setting. Shorten it by using the normal-soil setting when you can.

Overall, the Electrolux ELFW4222AW performs very well across CR’s tests. Its washing performance and water efficiency are excellent, and its energy efficiency, its gentleness on clothes, and the vibration levels during its 65-minute operation earn very good ratings. In our most recent surveys, CR members reported that Electrolux, as a company, had excellent predicted reliability. (Electrolux and LG are the only companies with a compact washing machine that achieves this rating.) But its owner satisfaction score is only adequate.

The LG WT7150CW ranks among the top high-efficiency washing machines in CR’s tests, primarily for its first-rate cleaning performance, water efficiency, and vibration. It also earns a top rating for energy efficiency, but its gentleness on clothes is middling. It can still handle big loads within its slight interior and exterior frame: 5 cubic feet, 44.5 inches high, 29.1 inches deep, and the standard 27 inches wide. LG’s HE washing machines earned top marks for predicted reliability in CR’s latest member survey, which means they’re less likely to develop problems or break within the first five years.

    Clothes Dryers

The LG DLG3471W gas dryer shares impressive performance with several other LG models in our tests (the LG DLG7401WE and the LG DLGX6501W), but it’s less expensive than both while offering similar performance. That said, this is a basic machine that’s a bit short on extras. If you’re looking for a steam option, WiFi, or a stainless steel drum, you’ll want to pay a little more for the DLGX6501W. Whichever model you choose, you’ll be buying from a brand with high marks from CR members for reliability and owner satisfaction.

The LG DLGX5501W offers great performance and some nice extras at a moderate price. It scores admirably in our tests for drying performance, convenience, and noise, and offers a steam option, extended tumble, and WiFi capability—and it’s our top-rated dryer. Its stainless steel drum has a 7.4-cubic-foot capacity. In our surveys, CR members rank LG gas dryers tops in both reliability and owner satisfaction.

The Energy Star certified Samsung DV25B6900EW compact dryer earns CR’s Green Choice designation for being among the most eco-friendly models in our ratings. This 4-cubic-foot-capacity dryer gets high scores for both drying performance and noise, and an average score for convenience. It offers extras that include a moisture sensor, a stainless steel drum, and WiFi capability. As a brand, Samsung compact dryers get a very good mark from CR members for reliability but a mediocre mark for owner satisfaction.

The LG DLE3400W should perform similarly to the CR-tested LG DLEX3700W (now discontinued). The tested model delivers solid performance across the board, nabbing an ace rating for noise and ratings near the top in our drying and convenience tests. This stackable Energy Star certified machine, with a claimed capacity of 7.4 cubic feet, is equipped with a moisture sensor, an extended tumble, custom programs, and an end-of-cycle signal—offering all these features at a fairly low price. It’s $100 more than the best price we’ve seen but still at a great discount.
