Best Early Black Friday Deals on Pet Products

The Cube is not specifically intended for pet tracking but to help people keep track of a range of possessions, including cars, luggage, and kids’ backpacks, as well as pets. That puts the Cube at a disadvantage as a pet tracker, despite its competent core tracking abilities. The device is relatively large and heavy, but most dog collars won’t fit through its thin slots, so you need to purchase an add-on collar clip for $25. More significantly, the app lacks pet-specific features like fitness and activity tracking and a light beacon for spotting your dog at night.

On the other hand, it does let you set a home “safe zone” and virtual fence and emits a fairly loud sound alert. It’s also very solidly constructed, creates detailed and easy-to-read location histories, and, like the Link, is capable of delivering high-temperature alerts.

If you need a tracker right now, this is a nice price. That said, we saw the Cube go for just $59.99 during the early fall sales.

The Casfuy Dog Nail Grinder is a two-speed grinder with three grinding ports that are designed to suit the size of your dog’s nails. Because it was less powerful than the Dremel, it took longer to get a nail down to the same length. However, it was also quieter, which made it a better choice for the more anxious dog in our evaluations. It does lack a safety guard, but because it operates more slowly, it’s easier to watch your progress and stop before you reach the quick.

This is the same price we saw during the Prime Day fall sales.

Need a litter box and don’t want to spend a lot? This is a great option, especially with the extra savings (even if it’s just a small discount). It could be the perfect way to keep your pets happy if you have a multi-cat home and need a multi-box solution. We tested this box with five different cats, and they all used it without any issues. In fact, the lower entrance made it easy for them to get in and out to do their business. And the snap-on lid offers a lot of privacy and helps keep litter in. But the latch isn’t super secure, so it may not be ideal if your cat is especially active in the litter box.

Stainless steel litter boxes have grown popular recently, thanks largely to the nonstick material that is much easier to clean than other traditional litter boxes. I personally own a stainless box for my cats, and it really is a simpler process to get everything disinfected when I change out the litter. And our evaluator had a similar experience, saying it only took a few swipes with soap and water and a generous rinsing to get it shining like new again. The one thing I will say is the sound of your cats digging around is much different (and much louder) when they’re scratching metal versus plastic.

Our evaluators (and their pets) dubbed this one the comfiest and coziest of the dog beds they tried. Everything about the Furhaven bed seems designed with doggy comfort in mind, from its egg crate orthopedic foam base that can help cushion pressure points, according to the manufacturer, to its faux fur sleep surface.

The dog bed cover is removable and machine washable.

The Petlibro One RFID Smart Feeder was the fanciest automatic dog feeder we evaluated (it came with great advanced features like a customizable LED screen), and it was on point with food measurements and schedules. But adult or small-dog-sized kibble got clogged in its chute.

We saw this feeder sell for $20 less during Prime Day fall sales, so the price may drop again closer to Black Friday.

If you’re trying to remove pet hair from your clothes, this could be the right option—especially at this price. Our evaluators found that the rubber-edged Lilly Brush tidies up clothing better than the rest, but it’s not as effective on larger areas like furniture. As with every tool we tried other than the ChomChom, it didn’t pick up any of the pet hair, instead making neat piles of hair along the cleaned surfaces.

The PetSite 3-in-1 is multifunctional, easy to assemble and fold, lightweight, and sturdy. It’s also really versatile for travel. It serves as both a car seat and portable carrier, complete with a carrying strap. It has a maximum capacity of 33 pounds, so you could potentially fit two small animals, and the mesh top makes it easy to keep an eye on them. Our evaluator reported that it was easy to assemble and that the stroller moved smoothly, even on bumpier surfaces.

The Pet Gear Happy Trails Lite is a solid pick. It’s easy to assemble, and the no-zipper functionality on the canopy gives quick and easy access to your pet. True to its name, the Happy Trails Lite is incredibly lightweight at just 11.5 pounds, which makes for very easy transport by car. From start to finish, this pet stroller earned high marks for ease of use, from assembly to popping it into the trunk to storing it under a bed. The mesh design and paw rest give your pet plenty of visibility, but our evaluator noted that it’s not the roomiest. It’s rated for pets up to 25 pounds, but it might still be cramped.

The BestPet 3 Wheels Pet Dog Stroller is an inexpensive, lightweight pet stroller that might be best for puppies or small cats—it’s only recommended for pets weighing 11 pounds or less and up to 18 months old. It was very easy to assemble: Just unfold it and add the cup holder and wheels. In general, this pet stroller felt flimsy. It does offer a nice padded cushion for comfort, but the plastic lightweight wheels made for the wobbliest ride among the strollers we tested.

Aside from serving as a stimulating activity for pets, puzzle treat dispensers can be a great way to encourage slow(ish) snacking. Nicky Besuden, CR’s associate director of new ventures, recommends this dynamic treat dispenser: “My dog loves all the treat puzzles.”

A CR writer, Jodhaira Rodriguez, also sprang for a lick mat as a means of feeding her cat, Frank, his wet food, while making sure he doesn’t munch his meals away too quickly. For his dry food, she opted for this puzzle, which he loves. “It really slows him down and keeps him busy for a while,” she says.

The Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution Pet Pro Plus 3588F is selling at a nice price right now, though it was $30 less at Amazon during Prime Big Deal Days, so the price may drop again the closer we get to Black Friday. Not only is the model an excellent cleaner of dirt and stains, but it’s also very good at removing moisture from carpets after a cleaning session. It’s relatively lightweight compared to some of the other carpet cleaners we’ve tested—it weighs 28 pounds when full—and comes with a pet upholstery tool and a tough stain tool.

The Dyson 360 vis nav stands out for its unique features and powerful cleaning performance despite some limitations and its high price. It’s on the heavy side but makes up for it with extremely strong suction, effectively picking up pet hair and embedded dirt. Instead of a conventional side brush, it uses an extending side duct to tackle edges and corners. It also has a large brush roll that spans the full size of the vacuum for effective cleaning, and though its dustbin is relatively small, it’s equipped with a convenient one-touch ejection system for easy emptying.

The Shark CarpetXpert HairPro EX251BRN is good for cleaning and drying your carpets, so it won’t leave them sopping wet after you clean. That said, it’s definitely on the noisier side. It’s a single-tank carpet cleaner with a design that prevents hair from getting tangled in the brush roll.
