Anti-Static Sprays
Bounce Instant Static Remover+
This anti-static spray aced our static test. It did a good job at removing static electricity from toddler socks and microfiber cloths. Note, however, that the scent is quite strong. It’s discounted 15 percent.
Caulk
DAP Kwik Seal Kitchen & Bath Adhesive Caulk
The best feature about this caulk is that it does not require a caulk gun to dispense. In our tests, it had the second-best adhesion on painted wood and worked just as well after being exposed to extreme cold and hot temperatures.
Cleaning & Disinfecting Wipes
Clorox Disinfecting Wipes
These disinfectant wipes required an extra swipe to remove jam from a stovetop, and their smell is very strong. That being said, they cleaned up sriracha well, and were easy to remove from its packaging. This multi-pack from Target includes two scents: Crisp Lemon and Fresh Scent. We only tested the Crisp Lemon scent, which we found to be very strong.
Tub O'Towels Heavy Duty Cleaning Wipes
These cleaning wipes are large enough to use twice, cleaned up milk, honey, hot sauce, and rice messes well, and can be easily pulled from the tub they’re packaged in. This six-wipe pack from Walmart is the perfect size for keeping in the car, the back of a stroller, or for any other on-the-go messes.
Aunt Fannie's All-Purpose Cleaning Wipes
Aunt Fannie’s All-Purpose Cleaning Wipes have a pleasant, light scent. Though they required more effort to clean up sticky messes and left behind a soapy residue, they still managed to get most messes clean eventually.
Concentrated Cleaners
Fabuloso Multi-Purpose Cleaner, 2X Concentrated Formula
This classic, bright, concentrated cleaner can be used on most home surfaces. In our tests, it was especially good at lifting dirt from floors. It’s strongly scented, but if you’re looking for a bargain, it’s a solid buy, especially at 17% off.
Dish Soap
Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Dish Soap
This dish soap produced rich suds and had an elevated, herbal scent like no other we tested. It is also available in an easy-to-dispense 16-ounce bottle. It’s currently 20% off.
Palmolive Ultra Dish Oxy Power
The long-lasting suds produced by this dish soap left all our dishes clean with little effort. It’s mildly scented, easy to dispense, and didn’t leave dishes smelling like the dish soap post-wash. The formula left our hands feeling a little bit dry.
Nellie's Dish Butter
Choosing a soap bar like Nellie’s Dish Butter, which was our top choice for dish soap bars, helps you cut down on plastic waste and still get your dishes, pots, and pans squeaky clean. This one created a nice amount of suds and boasted an herbal scent that we found pleasant and not overpowering.
Dishwasher Detergent
For a middling price, Finish Powerball Ultimate dishwasher pods deliver above-average results in our tests, with excellent scores in both cleaning dishes and resisting film and mineral deposits. They also ward off water spots. They include scum-fighting enzymes, but no bleach.
Fabric Deodorizer
Zorbx Odor Remover
This was the only fabric deodorizer that helped rid fabrics of a strong, unpleasant onion odor in our lab. It’s unscented, so it doesn’t just mask odors, but eliminates them. It also did not stain any of the materials we used in testing.
Glass Cleaners
Windex Original Glass Cleaner
This well-known glass cleaner left mirrors, windows, stovetops, and glass shower doors absolutely flawless in our testing. It is made with ammonia, so avoid using it on tinted windows or other surfaces that may be damaged.
Sprayway Glass Cleaner
Sprayway’s foaming formula cleaned mirrors and windows in our tests, plus can be used on chrome, tile, and porcelain surfaces. Surfaces cleaned with this glass cleaner dried quickly with no streaks. The can is recyclable, cap and all.
Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Glass Cleaner
If you’re looking for elevated scents in your household cleaners, this glass cleaner from Mrs.Meyer’s fits the bill. It also performed well in our tests, leaving minimal streaks on mirrors and windows.
Hand Soap
Amazon Basics Liquid Hand Soap
This hand soap has a smooth and velvety feel that turns our hands silky-smooth. The large bottle is also a big money-saver and perfect if you already have hand soap dispensers you love to display.
Laundry Detergent, Pods, and Sheets
These laundry detergent pods from Tide have extra odor-eliminating ingredients that help remove stubborn smells from clothing. They worked really well at eliminating most stains in our lab tests, including dirt and salad dressing. Walgreens has an additional $3 off coupon available on their site.
Persil Free & Sensitive Liquid Laundry Detergent
Persil Sensitive liquid laundry detergent is a Green Choice product, meaning it has a lower environmental and health impact due to its ingredients, certifications, and recyclable packaging. In our tests, it excelled at removing chocolate stains from fabrics. It also handled body oil, dirt, and blood very well.
Multipurpose Cleaners
Method All Purpose Cleaner
According to this cleaner’s label, it is made with a “biodegradable formula” and can be used on counters, tile, stone, wood, and glass. Its results in our tester’s home-testing showed middle-of-the-pack results.
Mrs.Meyer's Multisurface Everyday Cleaner
Mrs.Meyer’s Multisurface Everyday Cleaner worked well to clean up light-to-moderate messes in our testing. Its scent is light and pleasant. Our tester found that oily and greasy messes required more effort to clean than with some other multipurpose cleaners tested.
Quart Bags
Ziploc Storage Quart Bags
Although hard to close, these are very sturdy quart bags, and make a great option for parents with toddlers who have a penchant for throwing their snacks. We love their stand-up bottom, which makes it easier to add foods without making a mess. These are perfect for food prep and leftovers.
Toilet Paper
Charmin Ultra Soft Forever Roll
This giant roll of Charmin toilet paper looks like a joke, but its performance in our tests was anything but. It’s easy to tear, abrasion-resistant, and very strong. Due to its size, it will not fit on most standard toilet paper holders.
