If you’re here, you love a good bargain, and I’m the perfect person to help you find one. I spend every day combing through page after page of retailer sites, checking prices of everything we test here at Consumer Reports. So I know right away when something is at a better discount than usual.
A deal isn’t just about the size of the discount. I’ve chosen these products because they’re not only at great prices, but they’re also top performers in our lab tests and home evaluations. I’m a firm believer in a good deal starting with a high-quality product, so that’s always the No. 1 factor in determining whether something is worth your money. Price is obviously important, too, so I’m taking into account the average price, the typical discounts, and how often an item goes on sale when I determine how impressive a deal really is.
There are other items on sale as well, so if you want to keep hunting for more discounts, head over to the CR Deals Hub, where I share the top offers on everything CR tests, including tech devices like headphones and TVs, kitchen appliances like air fryers and stand mixers, and home goods like air purifiers and lawn care tools.
Dash may not have the same name recognition as Ninja or Cuisinart, but the 2.6-quart Dash Tasti-Crisp Ceramic DCAF26CM air fryer earns solid scores in CR’s tests and comes at the best sale price we’ve seen in months. With food contact surfaces made of nonstick ceramic, it earns top marks for ease of cleaning even though it’s not dishwasher safe. We found it runs more quietly than many other air fryer models to boot. The DCAF26CM has a small footprint, making it a smart choice for a dorm room or for those with limited counter space.
Hot Comb
Tymo Ring Hair Straightening Comb
In our at-home evaluations, this straightening comb worked best for testers with curly hair. It has five temperature settings, an auto shutoff feature, and is extremely lightweight. One tester especially liked that it could straighten the hair right at the root better than the Drybar Straightening Brush it was tested against.
The price is back down to the low we saw on Prime Day.
Beach Bag
Simple Modern Tote
This bag fits five beach towels, one water bottle, two bottles of sunscreen, a hardcover book, four small packs of pretzels, and sunglasses. The Simple Modern beach bag is made of soft EVA material and has the thickest hand straps of all the bags we tested. The handles folded backward and forward easily and never got twisted.
TV
Samsung UN75U7900F
Costco’s price is half of what it was a few months ago, and possibly the best TV deal I’ve seen all year, especially. We didn’t test this 75-inch set, but we did test the 50-inch Samsung UN507900F, and it did well for overall picture quality, but it couldn’t deliver a compelling HDR experience. This is a more entry-level 60Hz set in Samsung’s Crystal UHD lineup, although it features Samsung’s Q Symphony technology, which allows you to use the TV’s speakers and a Samsung soundbar simultaneously.
Casper’s mattresses number among the top options that have been tested in our labs, and that’s not all the brand is good at. The Foam Snow pillow received high marks in our test for side support, resiliency, and breathability. It only got middling scores for back sleepers, however, so if that’s you, look elsewhere.
There’s a lot to like about the Bose QuietComfort, over-the-ear, noise-canceling headphone. It sits second in Bose’s lineup but performs a lot like the top-of-the-line QuietComfort Ultra. The model provides sound quality that’s pleasant if not quite up to the very best headphones in this category, but the noise cancellation, as is typical of Bose, is truly superb.
They’re $20 more than they were for Prime Day, but now Amazon is the only retailer with a significant discount.
The Kamado Joe Classic is one of the few grills we’ve tested that’s on sale, and Amazon just dropped the price back down to the lowest I’ve seen. It’s our top-rated ceramic kamado and comes packed with features, including a few that make it a stellar smoker. It has an elevated rack and comes with a heat deflector for smoking meats, both of which allow you to easily slow-cook, say, a brisket, without drying it out. It also has adjustable dampers and a locking lid, which help control the flow of air so that you can maintain a low and slow smoke for hours on end. It excelled at slow-cooking a pork shoulder in our tests, as well as at cooking a thin-crust pizza over high heat, helping it earn a rating of Excellent for cooking performance.
Massager
Nektek Shiatsu Neck and Back Massager
This massager, made famous on TikTok, could be a great gift for Dad. One reviewer found the nodes pressed into their neck uncomfortably, but two others who tried it loved it, so you might find the massager is just right or not right at all (but don’t worry—there’s a 30-day return window on Amazon). However, when it came to heat, this massager really shone. It reaches temperatures of 109° F. You can use this massager on various body parts, and it even comes with a car adapter, making it a boon for road trips.
